Age began playing: |
Prenatal. My father was a sacred organist and choirmaster and
my mother sang in his choirs. At age 7, my father forced me
into piano lessons (5 years) and to sing in his children's choir (10
years). Through grammar school, high school and some college
years, played trumpet, trombone and baritone horn (7 years), before
settling into guitar (much to my father's consternation) |

Played serious guitar from 1963 to 1985; quit playing music from
1985 to 1997 while concentrating on work as a computer programmer.
Began playing again in 1997, electric bass guitar. |

Jazz, Fusion, Pop/Rock, Country-in that order. Don't really
care for Rap, Hiphop, metal or trash |

Performed as a solo acoustic folk act in NY/NJ area from 1963 to
1971 before moving to CA; performed as guitarist for several
Northern Calif. bands from 1979 to 1985. As a bassist for the
Randy Heater Band (who is still receiving royalties for his backup
vocals for John Denver and Johnny Paycheck), 1997-1998.
Retired to Bend in 1998. As a bassist with "The Northwest Jazz
Ensemble" from 1999-2001. Also studied Jazz improvisation at
COCC under the direction of Andy Warr, 2000-2001. |
